why it's important...
I had to run this morning. I missed yesterday's run. My knee was wonky and time just slipped by.
It was just so cold. I wore my favorite old sweatshirt, it has lots of holes, so as I warmed up, it wouldn't be too hot. I found a hat in Annalise's collection.
I waited until the sun was almost out, 7:00 a.m. and I headed for the track.
After the first mile, I started finding my pace and I was warmer. The sun was a little higher. People were walking the track, all bundled up. A little fancy dog stopped in the middle of the track and stared at me as I ran up to him and around him. His person told me he loves to run with people but he has a hard time keeping up.
At mile 2, things started falling into place. I kept my pace at about 12 1/2 minutes/ mile and my mind got stiller. I stopped worrying about some of the big huge things that are starting to happen around me and I focused on the next step.
