Looking for realistic ways and means to inspire creativity in kids can seem to be the mother of all asks, but is in fact remarkably simple with the right everyday approach. That being said, there is no exact science to it and all kids are as unique as they are amazing, though introduce the following ideas into everyday life and you’ll certainly be heading in the right direction:First and foremost, know that kids are of course unmolded lumps of clay ready to be sculpted and inspired, which is 100% our job and our job alone! Never expect others to do it for you.

Consider taking everyday crafts further, like if for example your kids love to color, assist them in making their own coloring books with outline drawings they create – don’t just rely on store-bought options. Include kids in each and every minor household problem that may come about to encourage them to think of creative ideas and solutions – they might just surprise you!Organize frequent family meetings or activities where ideas are encouraged and rewarded consistently. If reading stories to a child, always end at crucial and exciting junctures so as to ask how they think the story will pan out – this never fails to get imaginations running riot!

Put those drama teaching courses to good use and involve the kids in as much make-believe playtime as possible. Encourage wild and outrageous thinking/brainstorming as much as possible – even in times when a child may be misinformed or oblivious to the truth, they can still display massive creativity which must be acknowledged.Don’t forget that certain kid-friendly software packages the likes of drawing or movie-making programs can nurture creativity even more than traditional pen and paper tools – don’t ever be afraid of technology.Last but not least, celebrate each and every single thing they come up with like the one of a kind creation it is, as kids are not exactly adept when it comes to accepting constructive criticism – at least in the earlier years.

No child will ever pass up an opportunity to hear a story. And it needn’t be a new one every time. Children happily hear the same story several times with the same sense of wonder and fascination as they did the first time. And not without a reason; it opens up their world to vocabulary and expression which they crave. Children who did not have the luxury of listening stories often find it difficult to express themselves as they grow up.

The first thing that storytelling does is that it promotes a feeling of well-being and relaxation for the child as they get engrossed in the story. They feel happy and secure when told stories. At the same time, storytelling increases the willingness of a child to communicate thoughts and feelings that would otherwise be internalised. As the story unfolds, it makes the child imagine everything in the mind which makes them quite imaginative. It also makes them very communicative as they learn and look for new sounds and words to express their feelings. And around the age of four and five, they become quite adept at telling stories themselves! Be it about Goldilocks, a toy, an imaginative character or even tampons, they will find a way to weave a story around it!

Storytelling ensures that they need to pay attention. This in turn enhances their listening skills as they absorb all that is told to them. No detail is missed out – in fact if you skip a part, you may well be reminded of the same quite vociferously! And when this activity is done in a group, it encourages cooperation between children. They also pick up the finer nuances of acting as the volume of the storyteller’s voice, the tempo, tone, facial expressions and gestures all become part of the story. Children are great observers and they pick this up too! This eventually lays the foundation of making them good storytellers and actors themselves. There is a lot more to storytelling than just telling a story!

Stories are one of the oldest forms of communication humanity has. Through stories we have grown and developed culture, science and religion. Without stories we would be little more then mobile apes who occasionally grunt and make noises. Art and medicine are two aspects of human nature that have grown exponentially thanks to stories. Everyday we go about our lives and business often forgetting the importance of storytelling and how without it we would be a substantially lesser race.

A lot of the recent problems the UK experienced with the riots can in part be explained by the lack of attention these children and young teenagers have had when growing up. It is not their fault. The blame lies with the people who raised them, be it parents or teachers or both. The Evening Standard in London recently started a campaign to improve the standard of reading and writing amongst children in the UK. Many children start secondary school without being able to read the most basic of sentences. This all stems from children not being told stories and learning to read for them selves at a young age. Young adults who want to apply for nursing jobs lack the basic reading skills required to even begin contemplating careers in medicine.

Stories are essential to our development. It is also essential to developing our reading and writing skills. There are still many professionals in the medical industry that cannot communicate effectively. Advertising nurse jobs is all well and good but if applicants lack the ability to read the text and understand it properly, then what chance do they have in performing the job effectively? Story telling is not just an art form it is an educational learning tool. Just because it encourages the mind to run away into fantasy does not mean it should be denigrated or considered any less worthwhile then the sciences.

Story telling should start from a young age and the reason that there are so many children with a reading and writing deficiency in the UK is due to their parents either being unwilling but in more cases unable to read and tell stories to their children. This is a terribly sad state of affairs to be in, but it is one that can be corrected.

I am yet to find a child who is not interested in listening to stories. No matter what ethnicity a child belongs to, a child would surely like to hear some stories. I know there are children who don’t have parents, I think for these kids lack of good food or social education is not the greatest loss. The greatest loss for these kids is the power of imagination. Everything that we see around today is due to the imagination of somebody. If you can’t imagine, then you will not be able to create as well.

A child starts imagining for the first time when he or she is lying down with the mother hearing tales of fairies and super heroes. When in the story the hero is losing, the child tries to imagine the ways the hero can win again and rescue the good people. Do you know that even the worst criminals in their childhood would have wanted the good to win over bad? When you nurture such feeling of a child, your child will grow up into a strong adult with great values.

As a part of our loft conversions we had put a window on the roof which would give a beautiful view of the sky, especially the starry sky in the evenings. I love the way my son would stare into the sky and listen to my stories, he would tell me of what he imagined at times, but on other times he would just sleep off and tell me of some really interesting dreams in the morning.

There was a time when parents had to rely upon their imagination and creativity to come up with good stories for their children. However, why should you worry when you have access to the internet and have knowledge of the past history of mankind?

Why don’t you start developing a story that involves hybrid cars UK? Surprised? How can one have a bedtime story involving hybrid automobiles? Well, why not? Would it not be wonderful if you were to add moral education to the bedtime story? It is not as if the stories that we heard when we were young were completely devoid of moral education. In fact, bulk of the stories that our grandparents told us were invariably full of moral lessons.

You can come up with the story that describes the importance of sustainable development. You can speak of the mistake that mankind committed and how it had a negative impact on the planet. You can point out how different species have been destroyed and how we have become the villain of the affair. You can then redeem mankind by pointing out that we have successfully come up with hybrid automobiles and are making numerous other developments to save the environment.

Of course, you can add the standard damsel in distress and the chivalrous knight in the bright armor to ensure that the story is entertaining as well as educational. This is something that you should always strive to achieve. The right balance will help you make of storytelling fun and informative.

Benefits of Bedtime Stories

Children all over the world love to be told bedtime stories. When you get that request to tell a fun bedtime story there are some things that you need to know.

They are:

· Tell stories, don’t just read them: You do not have to be limited to the books when you tell a story. Stories have existed even before any book was ever printed. So the best thing you can do is to put the book down and look at your kids while you tell them a grand story. There are some books out there that can help you learn how to tell your children the bedtime stories that you come up with. If you do read books the try not to read them like you are reading material from it support in London, read it with the enthusiasm of a child.

· Math and literacy skills are improved by storytelling: These may be surprising benefits of telling stories to your children but storytelling is more than just trying to get your kids to sleep. Kids who are told bedtime stories learn imaginative play, prediction, characterization, categorizing and much more.

· Bedtime stories are beneficial to you as a parent: No matter if you decide to read books or to tell stories from your own mind, what you are doing is taking time to slow down and bond with your child. Our days can be very busy so when we take this time to snuggle with our children and have fun; it benefits us. Plus when they are teenagers and driving you crazy you can look back fondly on your story telling time.

So go and tell you child a bedtime story tonight and have fun!

It is very important for adults to understand the impact of storytelling on children. For you, the story may be nothing more than a piece of fiction that has been designed to entertain kids. However, kids will not treat the stories as a bit of fake fiction. They will visualize each and every word you say and will try to live the story in their imaginative mind. It is very important to choose stories carefully and say it properly because children will unconsciously learn a lot from such sessions.

Bed wetting is considered a very embarrassing problem. Sometimes, the problem increases as the child grows older. This creates a vicious cycle where embarrassment causes stress and anxiety which in turn causes further problems. Why don’t you create an entire story a our person was facing this problem and decided to check out underjams review? His goal would be buy the best product available? You can create an exciting story about his adventures and mishaps as he went out to buy the product from the nearest store.

This will help you convey to the child that this problem is not a big deal and that one can even afford to be humorous and casual about such an issue. Of course, storytelling should never end up as sermonizing. Children are very quick to identify when you are trying to entertain them and also teach a lesson and when you are focusing on the lesson alone. Each and every moral lesson should be mixed with a healthy dose of fun and imagination for easy consumption.

Storytelling has taken a back seat in today’s world, but this was not the case always. Storytelling has been historically an inspirational tool through which the ancients would pass on wisdom, experiences and actual happenings which have played a major role in shaping our culture today. This has been a continuous process from generation to generation. In earlier times parents used to settle all the children together at a specific place and tell them the stories. They never used to read the stories, but would tell them. Most of these stories could have been real happenings. Storytelling helps children to increase their imaginations. Effective storytelling can actually stimulate the picture of the story in the in mind of a child. The best storytelling is done when you can remember the story and can say it without reading, with the help of great voice modulation and expressions. You can also use objects to make the story more pictorial, for example I have seen some story tellers use silver jewellery to highlight the role of a princes and similarly a rope to symbolize a slave. When parents become creative with their storytelling, it not only takes your children off to a deep sleep full of nice dreams, but also helps your children develop their individual creativity.

In case if you do not have an original story to tell then you can read a story from the book and memorize it. Your children would love it if you tell the story without the help of a book. You can also add a few parts on your own as a starter for trying to make your own story. Slowly and steadily you might be able to create your own stories. While telling the story, always try and remember what the next part is going to be. Any hint of getting stuck will make your child lose interest.

Often, however, over confidence results in leaving the house with not enough activities for a long trip. I recently learned my lesson taking one of those low cost flights that has three stop overs and now understand that I need to travel with an arsenal of activities that require no kit.Story telling games are perfect for this. There are classic word and memory based games like ’I’m going on a picnic….’. In this game the first person says ’I’m going on a picnic and I am bringing a blanket'the next person adds and item and recalls the first person’s ’I’m going on a picnic and I am bringing a blanket and some juice’. It is the kind of game that if you are stuck somewhere with kindly strangers a group of people can play together.I personally prefer a story game that has a bit more substance. You can make a story deck at home by pasting a cut out image onto cards. Pull out a couple of cards from the deck and take turns making stories out of them. If your child is inspired by the telly, there is a great episode of Charlie and Lola where Lola looks at ten objects and makes up a story that includes all of them. This is a great one to try if you get caught out without any supplies!

Encouraging your child to engage in the art of storytelling doesn’t need to be complicated, it should be a normal part of your daily activity. This morning my three year old asked me where the teddy bear mug came from. It was a bit complicated as I had bought it from a charity that does DNA tests, I asked her if she wanted the long story or the short story. When she said the long story, I began to weave a tale that would transport her to a different place and engage her in the process. She has a great memory, (sometimes better than my own) and I asked her if she remembered the name of the shopping mall by the train station. After we established the time and place for the story, I then began to weave the adventure of the mother who was on her way to meet her daughter when she came across a charity who had a table selling mugs at the shopping mall. The elements to include in your story in addition to time and place are:

beginning, middle, and end

a main character with a distinctive feature

a mission that needs to be accomplished

an obstacle to accomplishing that mission

I was tempted to introduce a funny and not historically accurate obstacle into my story of buying the mug for my daughter. It would be so much more interesting if I was running late, had run out of money, or tripped and fell on my way to meet her. This time though, I opted to stick to the facts.
